A new version of Asus Phablet, Fonepad 7 tablet is now
available in India. Asus launched the product at a initial price of Rs. 17,499. Asus offers voice calling support with Fonepad 7. The new Asus
Fonepad 7 features a 7 inch 1280X800 display. It is powered by a dual core
1.6GHz Intel Atom Z2560 processor which is coupled with 1GB RAM. The new
Fonepad 7 comes with dual front speakers powered with Asus SonicMaster technology
which produces quality sound output. The device runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean
The Fonepad 7 supports SIM card calling functions and is
packed with a 3950mAh battery which gives 28 hours of talk time in 3G service
and 35 days of standby time and up to 10 hours of video playback time. It comes
with 16GB of internal storage capacity and supports microSD cards for
expansion. Asus also offers 5GB free WebStorage space for lifetime along with
Asus WebStorage Office suite of apps.
The device houses a 5MP autofocus rear camera with 100
continuous shot ‘burst’ mode and can also record 1080 pixel HD videos. It also
possesses a 1.2MP front facing camera. The new Asus Fonepad 7 has 10.5 mm
thickness and weighs 340g. Connectivity options of the device includes WiFi and
built in 3G with HSPA+ mobile data with download speeds up to 42Mbps and
uploading speed up to 5.76Mbps. One can also make voice calls using the built
in noise cancelling digital microphone or an optional Bluetooth headset.
Asus has preinstalled the Fonepad 7 with customized apps like
SuperNote App for drafting notes and the Floating App that helps user’s multi
task with the option to open up to six apps simultaneously onscreen.
Market watchers observes that Asus can challenge the stands
of Micromax Canvas Tab P650 and the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 with the new
Fonepad 7.
