Asus unveiled a new device called Transformer Book Trio for
Rs. 98,099 in India and it can be converted as three products. One can use it
as a laptop or a tablet or even as a traditional PC. Trio has a dock able
design with two parts which can be used as three-in-one by users. The device
comes with dual OS. The tablet works with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean while the PC
Station is installed with Windows 8 as the operating system. The Transformer
Book Trio can be switch between Windows 8 and Android platforms by pressing a button.
Thus it holds the ability to work like three different products.
The Transformer Book Trio features a 11.6 inch full HD
display with 178 degree viewing angles which can be detach from the device and
keyboard dock and can be used as a multi touch Android tablet with its own
InteL Atom dual core processor and 64 GB storage capacity. Once removed the
display from the system one can attach an external display through Mini
DisplayPort or micro HDMI the PC Station and keyboard and can use it as a
desktop PC with Windows 8. The PC station is powered by the fourth generation Intel
Core i7-4500U processor and paired with a 4GB RAM of DDR3 and the storage
option starts from 500 GB hard disk to 1 TB HDD. The detachable Pad comes with
2GB DDR2 as RAM storage. This makes the device can be used by two different
people, in two different places, at the same time.
The PC Station contains 802.11ac WiFi and Blutooth 4.0
connectivity and in the display Tab it has 802.11n WiFi and Bluetooth 3.0
connectivity. Asus claims that the Transformer Book Trio will give 13 hours of
battery life in the Android mode and five hours in Widows 8 mode. It is
expected that the device will be available in Indian market by January 2014.
