Acer has launched a
new Windows 8.1 based tablet in Indian market. The Iconia W4 is a successor of
the W3 tablet which is the world’s first Windows based tablet. When comes to W4
Acer has made a lot of upgrades in the hardware from the previous one. The Iconia
W4 tablet features a 8 inch IPS display which gives a picture resolution of
1280X800 pixels and it supports a wide viewing angle of 170 degrees. The W4
tablet is mounted with a Bay Trail Intel Atom 1.8GHz quad core processor which
Acer claims to give better performance and saves power to give long battery
backup.
The Iconia W4 is
powered by latest Windows 8.1 operating system and supports InstantGo feature
to activate the tablet ready-to-go, by keeping data as well as apps refreshed
and updated even when the device is locked, by connecting to internet. This
tablet version of the Windows gives access the users to start button and offers
better navigation. The Iconia W4 has 2GB LP DDR3 RAM and it comes in two memory
options. The 16GB and 64GB variants differ in prices. The 16GB model costs Rs.
24,999 while the 64GB is priced at Rs. 26,999. Both the models support microSD
cards up to 32GB. The device is designed with a 5MP primary camera with
autofocus and a 2MP front facing camera.
Acer also developed
some value added accessories for W4 which allows users to work with the device
with great ease and comfort. It includes a Crunch ultra slim Keyboard which can
be used as a tablet stand and one can adjust it to various positions suitable
for different needs. A 5.3 mm rechargeable keyboard can be connected to the
device through Bluetooth. The Acer Iconia W4 tablet kit contains the Acer
Keyboard cover, a protection film, a responsive passive stylus, a power bank,
an adaptor kit with bag and a micro USB cable.
Acer allows one to
carry and hold the device easily as W4 weighs 415 grams and has a thickness of
10.75 mm only. The device comes with a 4960mAh battery which Acer claims to run
8 hours on a single charge.
