(HMCL) is still enjoying the first place in two wheeler sales in the
subcontinent even after splitting up their collaboration with Honda Motors. The
major factor which helped them to retain the status is; Hero could keep the
customer satisfaction with their models after becoming independent just like
when they were Hero Honda. As an attempt to give fireworks to Diwali
celebrations Hero has presented a dozen new models includes few refreshes of
existing models in the country. Major attraction of these models is the new
tuned up Karizma R with a number of new features and with new power.
In the refreshed
Karizma R model Hero retained the previous 223cc engine but is upgraded with
EBR tweaking to give more output and performance. But Hero has not yet revealed
the power figures but it is expected that it will be more than 19-20 BHP. The
new machine is capable enough to produce a torque of 18.35-19.35 Nm. Hero introduced
a handful of new value added features to Karizma R which will be more helpful
for the model to grab the attention of public on the roads. Major invention in
Karizma R is the introduction of Daytime Running Lights (DRL) and clip on
handlebars. Hero could give an overall eye catching look to the machine
regarding the design wise.
Hero describes the new
model as a sporty one and gives the unit with like exterior components. Karizma
R gets new side and front fairing, twin headlights, new mudguards, racing like
belly pan, new stylish muffler cover, wider tyres (90 and 120). Hero didn’t
disturbed the instrument cluster from the old one. Pricing of the new Hero
Karizma R is expected to be around Rs. 90,000.
