BSNL with the
association of Pantel has unveiled a new medium ranged tablet in the Indian
market. With the launching of PentaSmart PS650, BSNL aims to extend the internet access among the users even in rural areas of the country. The BSNL
PentaSmart PS650 features a 6.5 inch display with a picture resolution of
800X480 pixels and powered by a 1.2GHz dual core cortex A7 processor and also
equipped with a Mali 400 GPU. The Pentasmart PS650 runs on Android 4.2.2 Jelly
Bean operating system. It contains 512 MB RAM and 4GB of internal memory which
can be further expandable up to 32GB with the help of an external memory card.
The device sports a
2MP rear camera and a VGA front facing camera for 3G services. Connectivity
options of the tablet include 3G, WiFi, Bluetooth and USB OTG. The PS650 comes
with a 2500mAh battery which the company claims that it will provide 100 hours
of standby time. The BSNL PentaSmart PS650 tablet is available at a price of
Rs. 7,999.
BSNL also launched a 5
inch phablet PentaSmart PS501 for Rs. 6,999. It is a dual SIM (GSM+GSM) and a dual standby phablet which features a 5inch IPS display (854X480) and is
powered by a 1.2 GHz dual core cortex A7 processor paired with 512 MB RAM and
4GB internal memory (expandable up to 32GB). The PS501 runs on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean. It carries a 5MP main camera and
has a VGA front camera also. Its connectivity features include 3G, WiFi and
Bluetooth. It is packed with a 1800mAh battery which gives a standby time of
100 hours.
