Qualities Should Possess for A 'Future Proof' Smartphone

It is a matter of great confusion for many of us when it subject to select a smartphone among a number of devices which bears different brand names, various specifications sets and much more. If you are really looking for a new smartphone then some points should be kept in mind before selecting a particular device. These are the basic vital things which make a handset relevant for at least a couple of years.

Display: A 5 inch wide display which delivers a pixel resolution of 720p will be an ideal choice of a good smartphone. Based on today’s statistics it is enough to give good pixel count for sharp images and text. Better to go for a full HD and LED enabled display because it seems that HD displays will continue to dominate the global mobile markets.

Memory: Memory plays an important role while selecting a good smartphone. More sophisticated apps, high resolution video games, multitasking, etc. calls for increased memory on devices. When considering today’s standard a good smart device should have a minimum of 2GB RAM. In case of internal storage capacity one should look for a 16GB device if it does not supports microSD cards. When the internal memory increases it allows user to store more media files, load longer HD videos and install more apps.

Processor: Shelves of mobile shops is now filled with smartphone models carrying processors like dual core, quad core and even some octa core devices. But when we consider the processor speed, the number of cores are not related to higher speeds until these should have in right combination. In some scenarios dual core chipsets have performed better than a more powerful quad core chipsets. It is observed that Samsung Galaxy S3 with a dual core processor is much faster than other quad core models of its kind. It is better to stay with a dual core chipset which also guarantees of any prospective software upgrades.

Camera: Camera element is always forms an inevitable part of any mobile phone. With the emergence of new operating systems like Android and Windows, it has been changed from occasional photography or home shooting to an extent which nears professional frame making. Augmented reality apps, card scanners, OCR and face tracking for gesture support all based on a smartphone camera. The selected device should have a 8MP main camera with flash light and also recommended to have a BSI sensor. It will be an added advantage if the mobile phone is having an image processing chip.

GLONASS: Like GPS, GLONASS is also become popular in smartphones which was launched recently and it will spread to more handsets in a couple of years. GLONASS helps for faster triangulation of one’s position and re locking the position when the user switches between apps.
