Volkswagen has
unveiled the international favourite Beetle in September 2011 with 2.5 liter
Turbo forms. Taking energy from the great appreciations that Beetle received,
Volkswagen now going to release a 2013 edition of world famous “Bug”.
The 2013
Beetle will be a TDI Clean Diesel Model and it undergone a complete redesign.
Although it is much larger now and sports new panels, somehow the classic
appeal is retained. New bi-xenon headlights along with day time running lamps
are added. The new bug will comes with 19 inch wheels as standard one. Inside,
the dash is all new and features a touchscreen interface for music and
navigation. The multifunction steering wheel is new as well. Moreover, VW
claims that the new Beetle is more spacious and comfy for passengers at the
back too.
Powering the Beetle is
a 2.0TSI motor mated to a DSG gearbox. But rest assured that when launched in
India, it will be far away from being the ‘people’s car’.
Volkswagen Brand
Design Chief Klaus Bischoff explains about new Beetle “The Beetle is now
characterized by a clean, self-confident and dominant sportiness. The car not
only has a lower profile; it is also substantially wider, the front hood is
longer, the front windshield is shifted further back and has a much steeper
incline. All of this creates a new dynamism,"
The Volkswagen
development team has succeeded in giving a powerful and dynamic look to new Beetle
by increasing the proportion of track widths and wheelbase. Another attraction
is the new spoiler which is a standard accessory on the 2.0 Turbo and is
integrated to the design. The top surface of the spoiler is black while the
underside is painted in body colour. The Beetle 2013 comes with Bi-Xenon
headlights and it also gives the daytime running lights and parking lights.
