Microsoft has launched two new tablets in the
Surface series – the Surface 2 and Surface Pro 2. Surface 2 is a budget model
tablet which is the upgraded version of Surface RT which was launched in 2012
whereas the Surface Pro 2 has more professional features and specification sets
and is suitable for using like a laptop or desktop computer.
Microsoft unveiled the Surface Pro 2 in an
even held at New York and is runs on an Intel chip which the company offers
more power for your computing needs as it has a Docking Station which delivers
more power to the machine. With the Surface Pro 2 Microsoft targeted those
people who wants the convenience of a tablet but that can be work like a
laptop. The surface Pro 2 comes with a advanced kickstand which is redesigned from
the previous Surface models and is much better to hold the device on laps.
Microsoft claims the Pro 2 saves power more than 75 percent of previous models
in the Surface series.
Both the models have a screen size of 10.6 inch wide and these models can be attached with a next generation click-in keyboard. The keyboard has backlit display and one can work with these tablets even at night times. it will be available in colours magenta, cyan, purple and black.
The Touch Cover 2 has more sensors than the
first version, opening up the possibility of touch gestures in addition to
typing. The keyboard cover is more rigid as well as being thinner
The Surface 2 is a cheaper model in the series
and it has an upgraded display of previous model Surface RT. It is controlled
by a low capacity power chip designed by ARM Holdings Plc. Price of Surface 2
starts at $449 for the 32 GB version wit out a keyboard and its price starts at
$120.
The Surface Pro 2 starts at a price of $899
for the 64GB version with 4GB RAM and without the keyboard.
Microsoft preinstalled the Surface 2 with
lighter version MS Office, outlook email. The Surface Pro 2 can be installed
the full version of MS Office
