The world’s largest
handset maker, the Samsung Electronics Co Ltd, is setting up to bring in a curved
display smartphone in October itself, in order to preserve its domination in
this fast growing competitive market. A smartphone with a curved display will
be considered as the beginning phase in screen advancement which may then move
to bendable or foldable models, thereby causing a drastic change in the
high-end smartphone business. D.J.Lee, the business head of strategic marketing
of Samsung mobile, at the launching ceremony of the Galaxy Note3 smartphone in
Seoul, declared that they were scheduling to commence a curved display
smartphone at the beginning of October in South Korea.
Recently Samsung has
crossed over Apple and became the world’s leader in the smartphone market now
emphasized to introduce gadgets with bendable display screens that extends from
the side of a device. Now, televisions with curved display are commercially
available in the market. Samsung and LG Electronics Inc have begun introducing
big-screen LED TV with curved display at a cost of about $9,000.
