Suzuki Motorcycle India Ltd announces that they have plans to
launch a new model in the 250CC power bike segment in India. Suzuki will bring
the GW250 (Inazuma 250) most probably in the first quarter of 2014 in order to
reap the good results of the growing power bike segment of the Indian
motorcycle market. Atul Gupta, executive vice-president, SMIL told “we are
going to launch the 250cc motorcycle next month (January 2014) and new products
to expand our current portfolio in the upcoming Auto Expo 2014. We are equally
focussing on the scooters and the motorcycles.”
The naked street bike GW 250 is powered by four-stroke 248CC,
liquid cooled and in-line two cylinder engine. The Inazuma 250 comes with 6
speed gear system and also has telescopic front forks for better suspension
even on bad road conditions and Suzuki gives hydraulic disc brakes for front
and rear tyres.
Suzuki will assemble the new bike through the completely
knocked down (CKD) at Suzuki’s Gurgaon plant. Suzuki also announced about their
plans to launch new models in the scooter segment as well as in the commuter
bike ranges. Suzuki will start soon accepting the pre orders for the vehicle
but it does not told any word yet about the pricing of the vehicle.
