Renault is planning to
launch a new version of their popular SUV Duster in the Indian market during
the first quarter of 2014. Renault considers when the facelift model of Duster
launched in Indian roads it will be assumed that, will be a major competitor for
other SUV models in the subcontinent market. The new facelift model of Duster
carries a lot of cosmetic changes rather than major upgrades to the internal
parts. The major changes which get attraction on the first look are; dual tone
chrome grille takes place over the honeycomb grille in the previous model. The
new Duster also got new headlamps with double optic units and DRLs, roof rails,
chrome covered exhaust pipes, revised scuff plate and new design taillamps are
also gives a new refreshed look to the updated model.
Dealing with the
mechanicals the new Duster holds the previous model without many updates. It
continues with a 1.5 litre K9K diesel engine which delivers 85PS /110 PS or 1.6
litre petrol motor. There are some rumors spread on air that there could be one
more option with a new 1.2 litre TCe turbocharged petrol engine supported with
a 6 speed manual transmission and this variant will help Renault to compete
with other vehicles with small capacity engines which have recently hits on the
Indian roads. Some auto analysts also hopes that this time Renault may present
models with auto transmission units and four-wheel drive option.
This new facelift
model of Duster was first uncovered at the Frankfurt Auto Show and with the new
facelift Duster Renault expects it can attract extra attention in the highly
competitive crossover segment.
