Nissan has commenced a
smartwatch namely Nismo which has the capability to scrutinize the performance
of both the driver and vehicle. The Nissan Nismo can trace the average speeds
and fuel consumption of a car on top of determining the temperature, heart beat
rate and other biometrics of the user. The Nismo smartwatch is available in
three different colours, possess a battery power of about a week and it can be
worked by two buttons on the screen.
As per the experts,
this watch can lay an important pace towards greater connectivity in cars as
connectivity is the new arena for car manufacturers. It can be linked to the
on-board computer system of a car and thus can give information on vehicle
performance. The wearers can also obtain personalized messages through the
device.
Gareth Dunsmore, the marketing communications general manager at Nissan,
Europe said that since the wearable technology has been growing at the fastest
rate, Nissan wanted to take advantage of this pioneering technology. The
editor-in-chief of What Car?, Chas Hallett, reported that watches connected to
the car can prove more helpful than those provided by consumer electronics
firm.
