Dropbox has launched new version which supports Windows and Mac
operating systems. Dropbox 2.4 is now available for download and contains many
more exciting features. The new version comes with Screenshot Sharing to
exchange print screens and images in a better way. One can select PrtSc (Print
Screen) in windows or the corresponding key combination in Mac system and a pop
up window will appear and you can save the image to Dropbox folder by selecting
the option “Save Screenshots to Dropbox”
The new Dropbox 2.4 edition also supports capturing of selected area of
the screen instead of going for the full screen capturing. One can use
Alt+PrtSc combination to capture a particular window and the key combo
Ctrl+PrtSc or Ctrl+Alt+PrtSc helps you to copy links to images and you can keep
it in the clipboards for fast sharing. By replacing the Ctrl key with Shift key
(Shift+PrtSc or Shift+Alt+PrtSc) it will copy the
image to the local clipboard and not to the clipboard in Dropbox.
This feature works well with almost all systems, where Windows is using
Alt+Left+Shift+Prtsc to turn on or off the High Contrast themes. To access this
part should follow Control Panel – Ease of Access Centre – Make the computer
easier to see and clear checkboxes related to “Choose a High Contrast theme”.
Now Dropbox does not support for other screen capture tools which looks
for the PrtSc key. It is expected that Dropbox will support customizable
hotkeys in next updates.
Dropbox also gives an option for it, which appears in the context menu
for most files and folders.
If you are using a iPhoto 7.0 or higher versions on Mac systems it lets
you have iPhoto integration which allows Dropbox to import your images into a
photos from iPhoto folder.
